Lineman Scholarships
WREA Lineman Scholarship
The WREA (Wyoming Rural Electric Association) Lineman Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who plan to attend an approved regional lineworker training program and pursue a career with one of Wyoming's electric cooperatives. The scholarship is in the amount of $3,000, and one or more scholarships will be awarded each year. Applications must be submitted to Wyrulec Company by March 1st of every year.
Dar Hackworth Lineworker Scholarship
The Dar Hackworth Lineworker Scholarship was created in 2006 in memory of Dar Hackworth, an electrical lineworker with Garland Light & Power in Powell, Wyoming. The scholarship offers $1,000 to up to three students who plan to attend an approved regional lineworker training program. To be considered, applicants must submit the Application Form, two letters of recommendation from teachers or employers, and a transcript of grades. Please submit applications to Wyrulec Company prior to May 1st of each year.
Neil Adkins Lineworker Scholarship
The Adkins Lineworker Scholarship was created in memory of Neil Adkins, who was killed in an automobile accident in June of 2009, soon after beginning his career as a lineworker. The scholarship offers $500 to an individual who plans to attend an approved regional lineworker program. In memory of Neil, his family hopes this scholarship will help deserving students achieve a successful career in the electric industry. One scholarship will be awarded each year. To be considered, applicants must submit the Application Form, two letters of recommendation from teachers or employers, and a transcript of grades. Please submit applications to Wyrulec Company prior to May 1st of each year.
