Benefits of Membership

Benefits of Membership

Reliable, affordable electricity service

Wyrulec Company always aims to ensure the best possible service for the least amount of money.

Excellent customer service

Wyrulec Company employees are available 365/24/7 to handle emergencies. During office hours, knowledgeable, well-trained staff members answer questions and assist members with their electrical service needs.

Ownership benefits

Members own Wyrulec Company. Wyrulec Company, representing our membership, owns portions of our power suppliers - Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association and Basin Electric Power Cooperative.

Political advocacy

Wyrulec Company is an active member of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, a key legislative player in Washington, D.C., on behalf of electric cooperatives across the nation. NRECA both employs lobbyists and promotes lobbying by members and staff from each distribution co-op across the nation. These efforts are necessary to ensure that members are protected (as possible) from onerous rates, senseless regulations, and poor planning at the national level.

Wyrulec Company is an active member of both the Wyoming and the Nebraska statewide electric cooperative associations. Statewide employees also do a tremendous amount of lobbying on behalf of Wyrulec Company and encourage participation in lobbying efforts by members and Wyrulec staff.

Various tax and regulatory issues have come up, and continue to come up, in Wyoming and Nebraska state legislatures. Without a strong, united voice, electric co-op members would incur costs unfairly.

Periodicals

WREN magazine & Rural Electric Nebraskan
Strong proponents of cooperative programs and educational offerings, and filled with general news regarding cooperative health, these REA magazines have been distributed to Wyrulec members in Wyoming and Nebraska respectively for decades.

Co-op News
Wyrulec Company's member newsletter has been inserted inside the WREN magazine and distributed to co-op members since 2007. This benefit to the membership features meeting news for those who missed out, photographs, and electrical safety information and tips. Back issues are available on this website.
